Orphan.plg v1.0 -- Orphan Finder Plug-In for Pelican Notepad 5.x ©1995 stkProductions "All rights reserved." By Steve Kostecke 1 July 1995 This release is freeware. >>> ABOUT THIS PROGAM: The Orphan Finder is a tool for finding Notepad expansion pads which are not linked (i.e. orphaned) to another top-level or expansion pad. In the case of an orphaned chain of pads, the orphan finder can only find the first pad in the chain. The Orphan Finder will search all available local S3a drives. Drives that are unavailable or not present are not searched. Files that are unavailable are skipped and may cause the reporting of "false-orphans." At the conclusion of the search you will have a Notepad containing links to all of the previously orphaned expansion pads in your S3a. Please note that these orphans may contain links to other expansion pads. The search process, which can be quite lengthy, is interruptable at any time. >>> INSTALLATION: Copy orphan.plg to any \APP\NPAD\PLUG directory. >>> HOW TO USE IT: 1. Open an empty Notepad. This empty Notepad can be either a top-level or an expansion pad. An empty Notepad contains only the entry. 2. Close any other open notepads. 3. Open the Plug-In menu (psion-w) in Notepad. 4. At the Orphan Finder title screen: - Press to close the Orphan Finder - Press for on-line help - Press any other key to start the search process. 5. Press at any time to interrupt the search. >>> CREDITS: This program would not be possible without Mark Esposito's open architecture for the Pelican Software Notepad.
